The Gumbo Queen and Cocaine Donuts- New Orleans Creole Cooking!

"Best Ever Food Review Show" emailed me about the usual New Orleans food recommendations. Stuff they (and everyone else) had found on the internet: places saturated with tourists looking for "the best" fried chicken, "the best" po-boy, "the best" gumbo, etouffee or jambalaya, offering the "most authentic" experience according to bloggers who don't live here. I had to make sure they found better options, so I made a ton of recommendations that guided the episode into a more genuine experience of New Orleans food and culture. I also make an appearance & got to hang in the kitchens while showing them around town to places like Lil' Dizzy's and Joey Ks which are neighborhood staples of our community. By the time I got back to Joey Ks with a tour group, the crew were in the kitchen learning to make Eggplant Napoleon!
