I always remind my tour guests to bring home something for their dog sitter who picked up the poop, co-worker who covered their vacation time or parent who watched the kids, and a foodie souvenir is the perfect thing! Food is iconic in New Orleans and everyone eats, so it's a quick, cheap gift that you might want to pick up two of- one for yourself to remember or recreate the great food you had here. Here is a photo gallery of hand-picked iconic brands I found in my neighborhood Rouses- a chain of local grocery stores with locations all over the state. We have lots of local grocery stores- Breaux Mart in the Garden District, Robért's in the Marigny, Canseco's in Midcity and Uptown, Dorignac's, Zuppardo's or Langenstein's in Metairie on the way to the airport- where you can find many of these same brands. Happy hunting!
Jams, jellies, syrups & pickles:
Snacks, including a fun new cotton candy that comes in a bunch of NOLA flavors:
Box mixes and starters to cook your Louisiana classics at home:
Seasonings & hot sauces, including these cute single-serve Tony Chachere's packets for making a few gift baskets to spread around to the office or family:
And finally, some Louisiana produce- our beloved coffee, red beans, rice & pecans!
